Rosyth

This contract consisted of the installation of bearing piles both vertically and raking to form the foundations of the new Rosyth Strategic Link Road Bridge.

During the installation of the central pier we had to straddle a live rail track to carry out the works. Communication between concerned parties at this stage was a vital part in completing this section without any incidents or delays.

The ground investigation submitted for the area suggested a higher rock level than we actually experienced on site. As the design required the bearing piles to be driven into the rock, we had to weld extensions onto the majority of the piles.

The piles were then dynamically tested to confirm the clients designed loadings were achieved.
