Four VolkerWessels UK sites awarded British Safety Council International Safety Award 2012

Four VolkerWessels UK sites have been awarded 2012 British Safety Council International Safety Awards showing its continuous commitment to improving health and safety.

VolkerLaser received a Distinction for its Holt Fleet Bridge project, VolkerFitzpatrick's a merit for its Kingsnorth site, VolkerStevin a Merit for Todmorden and VolkerHighways a Merit for the London Borough of Hackney term maintenance contract. VolkerLaser did exceptionally well; to receive Distinction a site has to score full marks.

Adrian Shah-Cundy, head of HSEQS at VolkerWessels UK said: "This is a tremendous achievement and reflects highly upon the commitment of the project teams in the area of health and safety.

This is the first time we have entered all four organisations and what a great result. Receiving these awards shows our continued commitment to the health and safety of our employees and all those we work with. Well done to all those involved."
