VolkerGround Engineering at the A34
VolkerGround Engineering has recently mobilised to site as part of the M3 Junction 9 Improvements scheme, near Winchester. The team is currently installing 80 EZ28-700 piles, up to 12m long, in the middle of the gyratory with our 38T Movax and SL30 impact hammer.
The works areas are challenging and required the team to liaise with the client and groundworker during the planning stage. This allowed us to provide a suitable piling platform that not only suits the piling method, but also the existing topography. We are working with the client to ensure minimal disruption to existing traffic during mobilisation and piling works.
The team will continue with more sheet piling works along the A34 and nighttime works on the gyratory over the coming months.
