VolkerGround Engineering returns to the Preston & South Ribble FRMS
VolkerGround Engineering has returned to the Preston & South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS) to install a secant wall as part of ongoing flood protection works along the River Ribble. During this visit, the team are installing 258 hard and 257 firm piles, each with a diameter of 750mm, forming a cut-off wall that spans 230 linear metres along the river.
Our in-house design team have supported this project, collaborating with the project team and their designer to develop a secant wall solution to suit site conditions.
We have also installed temporary and permanent sheet piles to serve as a temporary flood defence on this scheme.
